OUR PASTOR

 

Rev. Dr. Dwayne L. Daniels was born on May 12, 1965, to the late Jasper and Carrie Daniels from Roanoke Rapids, North Carolina. He received his early training from the public schools in Halifax County, NC. He had a slow start in school, but by the time he made it to high school, he was voted to be the Most Studious. He went on to do a BS/MS at North Carolina Central University in Durham, NC in 1992. He Completed a PhD in Organic Chemistry at Clark Atlanta University in 1997. Dr. Daniels did his Post-doctoral training in 1998 at Tufts University in Boston, MA in Bio-Organic Chemistry.

 

Rev. Daniels was appointed as an Associate Professor of Chemistry at Fort Valley State University in 1999. Since his arrival, he has held several positions, including the Environmental Health and Safety Officer, Director of the LSAMP Program, and most recently, the Chairman of the Department of Chemistry.

 

Rev. Daniels believes strongly in helping the people in his community.  He was part of a group that organized a non-profit organization to deal with health disparities among minority groups.   The organization is called Visions for the Valley.  He is a two time Big Brother of the year, 2002 and 2005 and was also the Big Brother and Big Sisters Board Member of the Year in 2005.  He received the Bill Glass Champions of Life Award for his Prison Ministry Work in 2006. 

 

Dr. Daniels was very involved in his home church, Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church, Fort Valley, GA, under the leadership of Pastor Morris Hillsman, Sr. There he has served as a choir president, drummer, Ordained Deacon, Sunday School Teacher, Chair of the Fun Day Committee and Co-Chair of the Family Ministry.   In January, 2011 He answered the call to preach God’s word. He preached his first sermon on February 27, 2011. He continues to serve at Shiloh Baptist Church as a member of the Male Chorus and an Associate Minister.

 

He was called to Pastor the Mount Air Baptist Church on May 20, 2012.  He was installed as Pastor on August 19, 2012.  He and his family served Mt Air faithfully for three and a half years.  His favorite scripture and motto is from Matthew 6:33 “But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.” Pastor Daniels loves to sing, preach and teach the Gospel.  Pastor Daniels is a faithful hardworking man of God that believes that “we can do all things through Christ which strengthens us.” He believes that everything you do for Christ ought to be done first class, decent and in order! Only what you do for Christ will last.

 

Dr. Daniels was the President of the Congress of Christian Education for the Georgia Union Missionary Baptist Association from 2012-2015. He received his Associates Degree in Biblical Studies from Minnesota School of Theology on June 2013. More recently, he has completed 2 units of Clinical Pastoral Education at Eagles Landing Christian Counseling Center In McDonough, GA. In January of 2016, the Beulahland Missionary Baptist Church in Cordele, GA called him to be the eighth Pastor in their storied history. He was delighted to hold a post once held by his mentor Pastor Morris Hillsman, Sr.

 

He is married to his high school sweetheart, Minister Manerva for 26 years. They make an awesome team for the Lord.They have three beautiful daughters, Sheilah Wiley (Eric), Carrie and Jasmine.  He has three grandchildren, Antoria, Kristopher Dwayne and Gabriella Wiley.
